HEART OF THE CITY 1/2 MARATHON — Saturday,
June 7, 7:30 a.m.

We invite you to participate in the 5th Annual Heart of the City Half Marathon. All participants must be 12 years of age or older. The half marathon run will start and finish near the Heart of the City of Burnsville . You may register online now. You can mail in your registration, it must be post-marked on or before May 31, 2008.
ENTRY FEE: $35.00 thru May 1; $40 thru June 3; and $45 on RACE DAY. On-line registration closes on June 3 at 5:00 p.m. Central Time. Runners who register in advance will receive a runners t-shirt and finishers medallion. Entry fee on race day is $45.00. Race day registration opens at 6:00 a.m. and closes at 7:30 a.m. at Nicollet Commons Park in Burnsville. Entry fees are non-refundable, and the transfer of race numbers is NOT allowed. NOTE: If you raise $75 or more in pledges you qualify for additional prizes! Click here for Pledge Sheet.
PLEDGE PRIZES: Incentive gifts will be awarded to everyone who raises $75 or more. To
qualify for a gift, money raised must be turned in on or before June 7. Participants will receive gift(s) or redemption certificates upon turning in the money raised. Click here for incentive gift prizes and more info.
TIME REQUIREMENT: A policy regarding
time requirements will be implemented for the half marathon.
The policy requires participants to maintain a 14-minute per
mile pace (finish in 3:03:40).

PICK-UP: Race packets will be available for pick-up (for half marathon runners) on Friday between 11:00 am and 7:00 pm, or on race day beginning at 6:00 am at Nicollet Commons Park located at 12520 Nicollet Avenue South in Burnsville" to read : "Race packets will be available for pick-up (for half marathon runners) on Friday between noon and 7:00 pm, or on race day beginning at 6:00 am at Nicollet Commons Park located at 12520 Nicollet Avenue South in Burnsville
RACE DAY PARKING: Parking is available for runners and spectators in various parking lots around the immediate area of Nicollet Commons Park and at the MVTA station located on the northeast corner of Highway 13 and Nicollet Avenue.
LOCATION: Beautiful course that starts and finishes near the Heart of the City of Burnsville. This is mostly an out-and-back course that runs along the Minnesota River and Black Dog Lake. Click here for maps.
REGISTRATION: Register Now Online. On-line Registration closes on June 3 at 5:00 p.m. Entry fee on race day is $45.00 and registration opens at 6:00 a.m. at Nicollet Commons Park in Burnsville.

SHUTTLE BUS: A shuttle bus will be provided and will run between the start and finish lines of the half marathon. Runners and spectators may use the bus to travel to and from the finish line area at Clif Fen Park and the start line area at Nicollet Commons Park. The shuttle service will be available between 7:30 am and 10:30 am.
AWARDS: A brief awards ceremony for half marathon runners will follow the race and is scheduled at approximately 10:00 am at Cliff Fen Park (rain or shine). Click here for prizes.
The 5k is a fun run and although it is a certified course there will be no official timekeeping. A race clock will be at the finish line for runners to keep track of their time.

- Race packet pick-up
- Finish area activities
- Medical Services
Volunteering during the Heart of the City Half Marathon event is a great opportunity to show your community spirit and have a great time in doing so. It is also for a very worthy cause. WEEKEND CONCERT SERIES
May 30th & 31st - (Weekend before the half marathon event)
Live musical entertainment is showcased in the High-Top Tent located at Black Dawg Bar (next to Menards on Highway 13 in Burnsville) on Friday and Saturday night. The Friday and Saturday evening shows are limited to those at least 21 years of age. A cover charge will be collected at the door. Music starts at 9:00 pm. There is a $10 cover charge each night.
